Summary About the Position: Position is working within the Military Correctional Complex (MCC). The work requires frequent, direct contact with inmates. The maximum entry age is 37 years old. Individuals who previously served in a primary position may be reinstated. Responsibilities Perform a variety of laundry plant operations but primarily leads inmates performing laundry duties. Arrange laundry orders for shipment, take inventory counts, and operate commercial-type laundry washers, tumblers and conditions. Provide safety training to inmates. Develop plan for acquiring supplies and equipment and regulates stock levels of needed solvents and materials. Drive vehicles up to five-ton capacity to make short hauls throughout the installation. Properly load cargo within truck capacity and ensure load is properly distributed and secured. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Ability To Lead or Supervise Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Operation of Equipment and Machinery Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) Employee must stand and walk on concrete floors. Work requires some quickness in hand and arm movements to keep pace with machines and meet production standards. Physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate vehicle controls and laundry equipment. Effort is also required to lift objects weighing up to 9.07 Kilograms (20 pounds) with occasional handling of objects over 22.68 Kilograms (50 pounds). Works in the secured areas of the laundry areas and is subject to noisy, hot, and humid conditions. Employee is at risk for cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of driving accidents, when loading and unloading vehicle, when operating laundry equipment, from carts or machinery and performing related duties in the laundry plant areas. May be required to wear protective masks, gloves, or other gear. Works inside and outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position.
