Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D2077000 and is part of the KS 35th Division, National Guard. Responsibilities As a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-08, you will manage and accomplish work in the area of personnel medical readiness management and reporting; provide quality assurance and advisory services to subordinate units. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-1 through O-2 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training which provides a thorough and detailed knowledge of, and skill in applying, a comprehensive body of rules, procedures, and operations, such as medical records activities, operations, and regulations; medical terminology, procedures, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes; medical record classification systems coding techniques; and computerized data entry and retrieval systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent experience to at least next lower grade level. Such experience includes; Experience, education, or training which provided a thorough knowledge of a comprehensive body of laws, regulations, and procedures to provide regulatory guidance and recommendations to the Brigade/Group/Troop Command and subordinate personnel in the area of medical readiness and standards of fitness. Knowledge of procedures for requesting military and civilian medical support resources to coordinate, execute, and update required documentation that supports individual medical readiness. In-depth knowledge of the automated medical records and management system to provide guidance and instruction to Brigade/Group/Troop Command and subordinate units for the timely and accurate input of data. Practical knowledge to retrieve and/or query data to develop reports essential to support the command's medical readiness requirements. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medical procedures, civilian medical coding, and other medical requirements sufficient to analyze available data, identify trends and shortfalls, and provide recommendations for improvement actions. Detailed knowledge of the regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to the physical evaluation system (fitness for duty evaluation, military occupational skills/medical retention board (MMRB), medical evaluation board/physical evaluation board (MEB/PEB)) to facilitate timely and accurate adjudication of medical board actions. Broad knowledge of automated medical occupational data systems utilized to manage, report, and track medical qualifications and certifications. Knowledge of medical readiness indicators sufficient to assist in conducting subordinate unit inspections and assistance visits. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required. Physical Demands: Work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
