Description

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Technical Accountant / Accounting Manager to lead our general accounting functions. This role will involve overseeing the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for all entities within our consolidated group, excluding statutory insurance companies, following US GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement analysis, intercompany eliminations, and consolidation, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all transactions and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the monthly accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the preparation of general ledgers and financial statements for all entities, excluding statutory insurance companies, in compliance with US GAAP.

  • Manage the process of intercompany eliminations and the consolidation of financial statements on a monthly basis.

  • Ensure the correct classification and accuracy of all transactions across the company, working closely with department managers to maintain this standard.

  • Conduct financial statement analyses, including trend and relational analysis, to verify the reasonableness of consolidated financial results.

  • Develop and maintain a quarterly reporting schedule to ensure timely completion of statutory closings, US GAAP consolidations, and periodic SEC and statutory filings.

  • Research and advise management on the appropriate accounting practices and disclosure requirements in line with US GAAP and SEC regulations.

  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical accounting position papers.

  • Assist with coordinating quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors.

  • Prepare and assist in filing Forms 10-Q and 10-K, and coordinate with SEC counsel for Proxy Statements under 14A and other necessary filings.

  • Ensure compliance with XBRL reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate with third-party investor relations teams to manage earnings releases and file related 8-K forms.

  • Continuously assess and refine the financial close process to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle time.

  • Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, including documenting and updating process flows and controls.

  • Update, document, and maintain company accounting policies.

  • Engage in other special projects as needed.

    Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • CPA certification is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Workiva (WDesk) is a plus.

  • Strong experience with general ledger and financial consolidation systems.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

  • Experience managing or supporting the quarterly reporting cycle for public companies.

  • Strong project management capabilities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
