Actalent Pharmacy Technician in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibility will be to fill prescription items as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, package medications for dispensing and delivery, and adhere to the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy. You will label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels, participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy, and may check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory. You will also prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding. You will communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner and may process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction. You will also assist in the training of new employees and perform at least one of the following: work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room, work with automated machine to prepack drugs, manage inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications, input patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry), mix/package IV medications, sanitize IV room, equipment and hood, service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow), and perform other tasks as assigned.

This is a fully on-site position in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
