Zimmerman Advertising Data Strategist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Summary:

Reporting to the SVP of Retail Technologies, the Data Strategist plays a key role in orchestrating and automating the data analytics pipelines while maintaining the highest level of quality and reliability. The Data Strategy team has accountability for the day-to-day execution of the agency’s data capabilities, data governance as well as acting as the product owner of our proprietary Hyperlocal platform.

An ideal Data Strategist will help define and drive the constant evolution of the practice to ensure Zimmerman remains best-in-class and a business leader.

Responsibilities include:

Hands-on / Technical

  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders, including our Strategic Marketing Intelligence team, to define, document, and support data needs.

  • Facilitate the automated ingestion and standardization of client and third-party data into data warehouses and other cloud-based storage solutions.

  • Act as a business/product owner of the agency’s data visualization platform, Hyperlocal.

  • Ensure the security, integrity, and data governance of all stored information.

  • Utilize data profiling techniques to identify data quality issues that occur in scheduled imports. Possess and maintain awareness of best practices related to data acumen, business trends, and evolving technologies.

  • Develop a strong understanding of internal and external data sources.

  • Must be a strong, honest, and proactive communicator, acting as a collaborative liaison between business and technology teams.

  • Knowledge of AdTech, MarTech, CRM metrics, and related business concepts is a big plus.

    Strategic

  • Act as a data evangelist and a go-to-person for internal teams including Media, Account Services, Analytics, and New Business.

  • Investigate and present data-based solutions that differentiate the agency, ensure innovation, and maintain our best-in-class position.

  • Own the definition and implementation of processes, controls and governance models to ensure data integrity, security and compliance with the company’s PII guidelines.

    Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a comparable field of study.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with data, data integration technologies, and databases.

  • Experience with data governance rules and models.

  • Comfortable with new technologies and iterating quickly.

  • Able to balance multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience with ETL processes and tools, Python, SQL, GIS software, Power BI, and API connections.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
