Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate conventional milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and band saws to fabricate, manufacture, and assemble components.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform routine quality checks to ensure parts meet exact specifications and standards.

  • Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions, ensuring a smooth production process.

  • Adjustment & Troubleshooting: Analyze machine output and adjust settings as necessary for different production needs, including changeovers and varied functions.

  • Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues to maintain optimal machine performance.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all DG safety protocols as directed by company policies and the Facility Engineer/Safety Director.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the lead machinist and supervisor to ensure production goals are met and all tasks are completed effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' hands-on working experience with conventional machining equipment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and the ability to visualize part processing.

  • Machining Skills: Expertise in setting up and operating conventional mills, lathes, and punch presses.

  • Measurement: Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks that require standing, reaching, and pulling throughout the day.
