Summary About the Position: This position is located at the U. S. Army Human Resources Command. Provide administrative management and technical support duties in the form of calendar maintenance/scheduling, correspondence, staff action and presentation, travel planning and coordination training, office supply management, and timecard submission. Responsibilities Provides personal, confidential, and advisory services and assistance. Provides sound, mature advice, and recommendations to the DCS G1/G4 on the credible orchestration of events and activities. Serves as personal advisor, assistant and consultant to the DCS G1/G4 and G1/G4 leadership staff on executive and general administrative matters. Maintains calendar for the DCS G1/G4, exercising control over meeting appointments, working schedules, and speaking engagements, with designated authority for commitments of time. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Applicant must possess at least one full year of specialized experience in the Federal service. Specialized experience involves performing the following types of duties: exercising exclusive control over supervisor's calendar for all appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences; reviewing outgoing correspondence prepared for supervisor's signature; editing material for adherence to supervisor's established policies, writing style and previously expressed views; screening calls and determining the nature, purpose and urgency of the matter and if matter requires the interrupting of supervisor; composing a variety of written material; developing a variety of reports and documents; and making travel arrangements for supervisor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Administration and Management Attention to Detail Organizational Awareness Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definition(s) below: 1) Education alone: Education may be substituted for specialized experience with a Ph.D. (or equivalent graduate degree), 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M (if related). 2) Combination of education and specialized experience: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 2 years by 18. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of graduate education is equivalent to 18 semester hours. Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute for experience.
