POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as t; This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. *Replaces components, wires circuits, repairs and maintains simple electronic equipment and computer systems such as clocks, closed circuit TVs, automatic fire alarms, security, energy management systems.

  2. *Makes regular rounds of equipment areas, reading meters and gauges, and adjusting controls.

  3. *Takes and records test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, and oscilloscopes.

  4. *Follows procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.

  5. *Maintains records of work performed.

  6. *Responds to emergency calls after normal work hours.

  7. *Frequent travel between on-site facilities is required.

  8. *Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Minimum four years knowledge and experience in the application of electronic theory, electrical principles, laws and schematic reading.

• Preferred vocational training or higher degree of study/diploma in the electronic field.

• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding Electrical repair and maintenance for occupied spaces.

• Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities.

• Ability to estimate time and materials, and manage resources.

• Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately.

• Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and to follow instructions.

• Flexibility to build effective working relationships with staff, customers and others.

• Ability to travel to various on-site facilities, and to work independently and as a team.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED

Technical/other training

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

Valid Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

• Using fine motor coordination, concentration, and good vision to differentiate between colors

• Bending, kneeling, and stooping, and maneuvering in and around work areas

• May lift or move boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds

• Working in confined spaces

• Climbing ladders

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. The remainder of work is performed on job sites in the field, driving to and from worksite. Employees may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
