Job Description:

Parsons is seeking for a Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester. This candidate will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to create test plans that identify software problems and their causes. Successful candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively with technical team members, managers, and customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • The Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester will work collaboratively as part of a model-based system engineering team and will provide test plans and software automation engineering expertise to deliver incremental features to a wide range of products

  • Design, develop, and integrate test and evaluation techniques into our automation frameworks, identify poor performing software and implement fixes to increase reliability, log defects, test scalability of systems, and provides status reports on the progress of tasks

  • Advise and build automation scripts (unit, integration, end-to-end, UI) ensuring code coverage and quality

  • Create, execute, improve, and maintain automation test scripts through standard methodologies, closely monitor test results for swift feedback, and participate in peer code reviews

  • Advocate and evangelize good testing practices and coding methodologies, like pair programming, code reviews, Test Driven Development (TDD), DevSecOps, Exploratory Testing, Behaviour-Driven Development, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD)

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Solid programming background, experience with C, C++, Java, J2SE, XML, Visual Basic Suite including Visual Source Safe, J Builder or similar

  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures, Object Oriented programming, and implementing security into software early in the development process

  • Experience with the Windows Development Environment, Windows Client, and other commonly used programming languages

  • Experience conducting end-to-end testing of large or complex system of systems

  • Experience analyzing performance, security, availability, stability, and efficiency of systems

  • Experience validating and verifying application functionality against customer specified requirements.

  • Good understanding of QA methodologies and strong 'hands on' experience developing test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of work-related experience

  • A Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of work-related experience

  • In lieu of a STEM degree Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 16 years of work-related experience is required.

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • USCYBERCOM experience

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Xen, OpenStack, VirtualBox)

  • Experience developing automated test harnesses

  • Experience with RVTM, FAT, Acceptance Testing, and other formal testing procedures and documentation

  • Understanding and experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Salary Range:

$148,400.00 - $267,100.00
