Summary About the Position: Employee directly assists the Military Human Resources Division supervisor in providing military personnel administrative support to the Chief, Human Resources Division for the MEDDAC. This position is located in Fort Drum, NY. Responsibilities Responsible for processing military personnel actions in support of Soldiers and employees assigned to unit, such as requests for leave, pay inquiries, and other actions. Directly assists the Company Commander in providing military personnel administrative support functions. Responsible for monitoring, managing, reviewing, verifying, and coordinating military personnel information and documents and for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all transactions. Utilizes several military personnel database systems to update, maintain, and manipulate information and to ensure the most current and accurate information is available in the systems. Review a wide variety of military personnel support actions utilizing military Human Resources rules, procedures, and operations to ensure documentation and records are correct and accurate. Monitor, analyze, report and process all tasks related to military strength management and accountability within the organization. Serve as liaison between Soldiers and the installation finance and military personnel directorate for personnel management functions. Act as a point of contact on questions concerning regulations, policies, practices, and theories as they pertain to Military Human Resources management programs. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing automated personnel databases to retrieve and/or update data, 2) composing a variety of correspondence and report, 3) Performing various military human resources (HR) administrative support duties, and 4) Apply Military Human Resource (HR) rules, procedures, and operations in order to processes a variety HR actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Clerical Human Resources Technology Usage Oral Communication Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
