SUMMARY: This job posting is for four (4) positions within the Built Infrastructure (BI) work group located within the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department. -Two positions will be year- round, part-time (< 29hrs/week) -Two positions will be seasonal (approximately mid-April to mid-October) and part-time (< 29hrs/week)
Under the supervision of the Facility Operations (FO) and Trails and Visitor Amenities (TVA) Senior Supervisors, these employees will be expected to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks relating to the maintenance of Natural Areas facilities and trails. These activities can include turf maintenance, weed control, minor irrigation repairs, trail and fence construction, vault toilet cleaning and painting, sign installation, providing visitor information, and assisting with visitor use management at Gateway Natural Area and Bobcat Natural Area. Each position is expected to work 29 hrs/week. Working holidays is determined by supervisor discretion for department needs. -Year-round position schedule options: Sunday-Tuesday or Thursday-Saturday. -Seasonal positions schedule options: Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday.
All positions are hourly and do not provide insurance or retirement benefits.
Supervision Received: These employees will receive supervision from the Facility Operations (FO) and the Trails and Visitor Amenities (TVA) Senior Supervisors. FO and TVA technicians along with Natural Areas Rangers will provide field guidance.
Supervision Exercised: These employees may assist in overseeing volunteer groups of various sizes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. -Removal of trash and litter, clean shelters and grills, and perform vault toilet maintenance -Turf management including mowing, weed whipping, aeration, fertilizing, and minor irrigation repairs. -Visitor use management including traffic control, providing visitor information about site and regulations, and assistance with pay station (at Gateway Natural Area only). -Perform maintenance duties including painting, sanding, staining, and general cleaning -Construct and maintain soft surface trails. -Construct and repair kiosks, sign frames, fences, boardwalks and
