Description of Work Unit

The Outdoor Services section of Facilities Management consists of Grounds, General Services, and Heavy Equipment. Grounds work Includes irrigation, mowing, athletic field maintenance, zone maintenance, tree maintenance, pest control and reconstruction. The campus includes the Main Campus, Housing, Natural Resources Research Center, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Foothills Campus, Canvas Stadium, and Natural Areas.

Position Summary

Colorado State University Grounds Department is seeking applications for seasonal general grounds maintenance work, including: irrigation, mowing, general grounds maintenance, sports field maintenance, flower bed maintenance, and snow removal.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Must have valid Driver License Must pass Criminal and Motor Vehicle Background Check

Must be dependable, prompt, honest, responsible and able to interact with a diverse campus community.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working outside in various weather conditions.

Mechanical aptitude.

Experience operating typical grounds maintenance equipment and tools: Mowers, trimmers, edgers, various hand tools.

Essential Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility

Include but not limited to: mowing, raking, shoveling, sweeping, edging, string trimming, preparation of soils for sod and flower planting, litter removal, sports turf maintenance, watering, chemical spraying and fertilization. Clean up of curbs, sidewalks, streets, parking lots and campus plazas is included as well as providing support for campus events.
