ASIC Design Automation Engineer

Broadcom's ASIC Products Division is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer. They will define, develop, deploy and support the methodology, design automation software tools and flow used in ASIC development

This job will involve development, testing and deployment of software products and usage methodology to a world-wide, cutting edge, ASIC Design technology development and implementation team. These tools are used to support IC hardware development, synthesis, place, route, as well as verification that the ASIC is implemented correctly.

The candidate should have hands-on experience developing and debugging software in a team environment. They must also have an understanding of digital logic design and implementation. The candidate must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills to conquer the demanding and ever changing requirements of the ASIC customer base.

Responsibilities

Using Bash, Python, Ruby, or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes

Development of complex tools in languages such as C++

Debugging tool and design flow related issues for IC designers

Providing support/training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies

Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues

Applying hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions

Developing documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools

Skills & Experience

Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment

Digital Logic Design and Verilog HDL

Understanding of programming issues such as OO design, data structures, sorting, recursion, stack overflow and greedy algorithms.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills

Static Timing Analysis

Power Delivery Verification and Analysis

Education:

Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 8+ years of experience or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 6+ years of experience

Additional Job Description: Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $107,000 - $171,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
