About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Sustainment Command 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center on Fort Cavazos, TX. Responsibilities Operates and participates in all aspects of the Fort Cavazos Power Projection Platform to include the Marshaling Area and the Loading Areas. Coordinates movement/loading actions. Establishes communication with units. Assists and advises assigned and supported units in the preparation, maintenance and execution of unit mobilization/deployment plans (unit movement data), Unit Movement Data (UMD) and related documentation. Reviews and validates shipping documentation to ensure all equipment, to include hazardous/sensitive materials, are properly prepared to comply with regulatory requirements. Advises unit movement personnel regarding regulatory and operational requirements for planning and execution of movements by rail, motor, military convoy, ocean transport, etc. to include shipment of hazardous cargo. Utilizes automated systems for transportation movements. Provides planning and technical guidance to units. Assists in classroom and hands-on instruction for mobilization and deployment transportation related requirements. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Advises personnel of movement by rail, motor, military convoy, ocean transport, etc. to include shipment of hazardous cargo; 2) Coordinates loading and/or unloading; 3) Validates shipping documentation to ensure all equipment is prepared to comply with regulation requirements; and 4) Uses automated systems for transportation movements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Transportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
