Job Description:

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS ) support team is searching for a Senior Advisor System Administrator to join their team in Fort Belvoir VA or Albuquerque, NM.

DTRA is the Executive Agent for the Joint Staff Nuclear Weapons Stockpile Manager and is assigned the responsibility for maintaining the DoDs national nuclear weapons stockpile database using the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) application.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provides enterprise system administration for all activities (install, configure, operate, tune and lifecycle replacement) to manage the current DSMS Enterprise architecture.

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.

  • Working closely with Government, user site personnel and software/hardware vendors to ensure 24/7/365 connectivity to the DSMS Enterprise Systems.

  • Evaluates existing hardware systems to identify deficiencies and recommends performance improvements.

  • Deploys and verifies all infrastructure hardware and enterprise software.

  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure hardware, virtual network, domain and client service problems.

  • Administer enterprise backup/recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP) procedures and operations.

  • Review, test, deploy, maintains, and upgrade Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems software and databases.

  • Research, create, and brief Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) on all enterprise applications with recommendation(s) of appropriate Course of Action (COA).

  • Review and provide updates to the Approved Software List (ASL).

  • Routinely review, remediate, update, and brief Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) reports of vulnerabilities.

  • Author, update, and brief Plans of Action and Mitigation (POA&M) for vulnerabilities.

  • Author any applicable Data Risk Acceptance (DRA) documentation and brief to the program Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and/or agency independent verification and validation (IV&V).

  • Advise Cybersecurity professionals on all technical matters pertaining to enterprise infrastructure.

  • Configure Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), manage and brief status.

  • Supervise team projects and liaison with all aspects of the program.

  • Plan and implement system security activities; ensuring entire team is engaged.

  • Manage a hybrid team of 8 - 10 on-site and remote employees.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, and 8+ years of experience

  • Required certs: DOD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNA-Security, Security + CE, or CND)

  • Required Experience: 8+ years of related Systems Administration experience and ability to manage a hybrid team of 8 - 10 on-site and remote employees.

  • Required Technical Skills: Windows Server (2019, 2016, 2012), Cisco switcher, VMware, PKI, RSA SecureID multi factor authentication, JIRA, SolarWinds, Storage, Patch Management, STIGS, NIST Publications. Advanced knowledge of VMware technologies and services. Advanced knowledge of networking technologies and protocols. Advanced knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Advanced knowledge of RSA SecurID multifactor authentication.

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to lead and manage a team, skillful time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and balance numerous priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Preferred Skills: Nuclear Accountability or reporting experience

  • Work Location: Fort Belvoir VA or Albuquerque, NM, some travel (10% or less) and some telework available but it will be system and mission specific.

  • Security Clearance Level: Fully adjudicated Secret to start w/TS SCI eligibility

  • US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
