Scheduler 

Role Summary 

Our client seeks a Production Scheduler to play a crucial role in their facility's production operations. As a Production Scheduler, you will be essential to the smooth operation of our facility's production activities. This role involves scheduling production processes and departments to maximize the use of materials, workforce, and equipment. Key responsibilities include monitoring production workflows, implementing improvements, and reducing costs. The ideal candidate is proactive and adept at managing complex production schedules while maintaining clear communication and upholding quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Utilize various communication channels including email and software platforms 

  • Manage product deliveries to customers effectively 

  • Develop daily or weekly production schedules to meet manufacturing goals and customer delivery deadlines 

  • Analyze relevant data to create reports and optimize production schedules 

  • Facilitate the provision of materials and components necessary for production 

  • Communicate daily attainment data and weekly output reliability to the production team 

  • Maintain frequent communication with various departments to ensure smooth operations 

  • Utilize collected data to improve scheduling efficiency and effectiveness 

Skills and Requirements 

  • Ability to read and interpret various documents including purchase orders, job layouts, safety rules, and procedure manuals. 

  • Prior experience with Direct Mail, print design, and similar equipment is desirable. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is essential. 

  • Flexibility to work occasional shifts beyond regular hours to meet production requirements. 

  • General knowledge of printing, bindery, envelope, and mail services equipment 

  • Competence in using accounting software, logistics planning programs, word processing software, and manufacturing software 

  • Ability to learn and utilize ERP systems; experience with PrintStream ERP software is advantageous 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of addressing groups of customers or employees 

  • Associate degree or higher is preferred, or a combination of education and experience 

  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage complex production schedules 

  • High level of attention to detail
