Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer responsible for all phases of a project, from the project kick-off meeting through start-up and commissioning. This role requires effective communication with customers and sales teams to clarify project outcomes, managing client expectations, and acting as the primary point of contact for external project stakeholders. You will manage project personnel, review and analyze project scopes, identify risks, and ensure the successful completion of projects. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain project schedules, perform application and design engineering on various fertilizer equipment, and provide guidance to mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers and sales to clarify project outcomes.

  • Manage client expectations, taking their interests into account.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external project stakeholders.

  • Manage project personnel to achieve project objectives.

  • Regularly review and analyze project scope, identify risks, and make necessary adjustments.

  • Prepare and maintain project schedules through completion.

  • Perform application and design engineering on various fertilizer equipment.

  • Provide guidance to mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters.

  • Submit General Arrangement layout drawings to customers and obtain approval.

  • Check work performed by mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters.

  • Work with engineering support staff to release drawings to manufacturing.

  • Coordinate work with other departments within the organization.

  • Prepare and maintain controls and automation documents for projects.

  • Ensure highest quality standards in deliverables.

  • Provide guidance to millwrights and other third-party contractors.

  • Handle issues and questions from the field efficiently.

  • Assist in the creation of equipment design standards.

  • Participate in new product development groups to design new features and equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred, open to entry-level candidates.

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Experience in machine/equipment design and project management.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or comparable software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This role is based in Forest Hill within a small manufacturing environment and a small team of engineers. The candidate should be proficient in design and hands-on tasks due to the natural autonomy of the position.
