Position Summary

South Jersey Industries has the opportunity for an Accountant to join our stable and growing clean energy company in an entry-level position with room for growth and professional development. The Accountant Associate at South Jersey Industries reports to the Accountant Lead and is responsible for general ledger accounting and financial reporting for our Renewable Energy companies. This team member partners closely with Operations, Financial Planning and Analysis and Internal Audit teams to achieve business goals.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly close

• Research and correct reconciling items identified

• Focus on continuous improvement and refinement of current operating procedures

• Ensure compliance with GAAP

• Comply with appropriate policies and procedures

• Liaise with other departments

• Provide audit support as needed

Required Skills:

• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel

• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prioritize effectively while successfully managing multiple tasks

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of GAAP

• Experience with the month end close process

Qualifications

Required Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 0 years of relevant experience, or;

• Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Compensation Range:

$47,250 - 75,600

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
