Collins Aerospace is looking to fill a Tool & Die (Jig & Fixtures) Role that will support our Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) facility. This Role is responsible for performing tool preventative maintenance, modifications, and new fabrication to aircraft tooling. The position also involves learning the fundamentals necessary to ensure compliant hardware is produced and learn the fundamentals of Relentless Root Cause Analysis. This position allows you to develop a strong foundation and understanding of the key concepts and processes of Assembly Tooling fundamentals.

This position requires you to work 2nd Shift 1pm-9:30pm Monday-Friday

What you will do:

  • Working varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as required.

  • You will be working onsite at our Foley, AL Facility

  • Preform tool preventative maintenance to ensure the tools meet their designed intent

  • Update Existing aircraft tooling to tool design revisions

  • Work repairs to ensure broken aircraft tooling is functional as designed

  • Perform TPMs, Updates and repairs in usage of machining (Metal Mill or Lathe), welding, assembly, fabrication, and repair of aircraft tooling which frequently involves 3D Digital Systems such as Laser Trackers.

  • Preform other duties as assigned

Qualifications you must have:

  • HS Diploma, In the absence of a HS Diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant aircraft assembly and/or Machining experience is required.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience of various MS Office software, SAP and Team center

  • Experience in application of Lean through Continuous Improvement events

  • Able to understand and follow detailed verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and manage resources along with effective time management and organizational skill
