Description

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for an Accounting Manager on behalf of a reputable company near the Jackson, Mississippi area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and taxes.

  • Implement and ensure adherence to GAAP Accounting principles and procedures.

  • Manage the preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports, and present findings and recommendations to top management.

  • Administer the organization's tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

  • Oversee and manage the company's financial systems, ensuring they are efficient, accurate, and updated as per the General Ledger System.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial data is reliable and available on a timely basis.

  • Collaborate with external auditors, providing all required information and ensuring all audit issues are resolved.

  • Design internal auditing procedures and work with auditors to ensure that the procedures are followed.

  • Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters.

  • Direct the maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor of Accounting - Required.

  • CPA designation required, or CPA eligible candidates who are committed to pursuing the designation.

  • Public accounting experience.

  • Solid understanding and application of GAAP Accounting principles.

  • Experience with General Ledger System operations and management.

  • Proven ability to oversee and manage accounting department activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.

  • Strong analytical skills to provide accurate financial forecasts.

  • Excellent leadership skills to manage and mentor accounting staff.

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure overall company financial health.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and other relevant computer applications.
