JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for managing and coordinating inventory materials for production lines within a tech manufacturing facility, working with both onsite inventory and external 3PL (Third Party Logistics) partners. This role involves monitoring inventory transactions, analyzing discrepancies, and providing solutions to ensure material availability for production. The Analyst will review and manage cycle counts, discrepancies, and performance metrics, while working to improve inventory accuracy and flow. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Excel, experience with SAP or similar systems, and expertise in root cause analysis.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard schedule:Monday to Friday, 6am- 2:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze current inventory levels and manage the movement or transfer of materials both within the site and to external sources, including 3PL partners.
Review and follow-up on cycle counts, ensuring inventory levels are accurate and discrepancies are identified.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts using root cause analysis, ensuring traceability and accuracy across systems.
Provide solutions and recommendations to production Workcells and the Inventory Control Manager to prevent future inventory inaccuracies.
Analyze performance metrics such as downtime, inventory adjustments, rework lists, backflush integrity, material returns, and line inventory.
Collaborate with 3PL partners to coordinate material transfers and ensure accurate documentation of transactions.
Manage material flow to ensure continuous availability for production lines without causing downtime.
Authorize adjustments for inventory discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
Provide follow-up on financial reports, including backflush variations and consumption discrepancies.
Perform inventory transactions and reporting using internal systems (e.g., SAP or similar software) and customer systems as required.
Review and manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes for accurate handling of returned materials.
Support continuous improvement by developing and implementing new materials management systems that enhance inventory control.
Work closely with departmental supervisors, engineering, program management, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth material flow.
Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and company policies related to inventory management.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Inventory Control Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
2-4 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain management, or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing or tech environment.
Experience working with 3PL partners and knowledge of 3PL inventory systems is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Strong understanding of inventory control processes, material ordering, and supply chain coordination.
Proficient in Excel, including the ability to analyze data, manage inventory spreadsheets, and generate reports.
Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for inventory management and reporting.
Expertise in conducting root cause analysis to identify and address inventory discrepancies and improve accuracy.
Ability to effectively monitor and adjust inventory levels based on production needs and forecasts.
Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of relevant software packages.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting information to various stakeholders, including management, suppliers, and 3PL partners.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Experience in reviewing financial reports related to inventory (backflush, consumption, etc.) and providing actionable feedback.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
Flexibility to work overtime, adapt to changing production and inventory demands, and be on-call when needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move materials as required for inventory handling.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with regular production and material handling duties.
