Job Summary: The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing inventory control operations within the warehouse. This role will focus on the effective management of a Vertical Lift Module (VLM), monitoring material usage on the production floor, and supervising a small team of warehouse associates. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience with SAP to manage and monitor inventory efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
VLM Management:
Oversee the storage and retrieval operations of the Vertical Lift Module (VLM) to ensure optimal use and efficiency.
Perform regular maintenance checks and coordinate with technical support for any repairs or upgrades required.
Train warehouse staff on the operation and safety protocols related to the VLM.
Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels on the warehouse floor to ensure that only the materials needed for current production builds are in use.
Utilize SAP software to track inventory levels, manage material flow, and update records.
Conduct regular inventory audits and use SAP data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce waste and improve accuracy.
Production Floor Oversight:
Manage and monitor the production floor to ensure materials are being used appropriately and in accordance with production schedules.
Identify and address any mismanagement or inefficiencies in material handling or usage.
Work closely with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and address any issues impacting production efficiency.
Team Management:
Supervise and provide guidance to a small team of warehouse associates, ensuring effective and efficient work performance.
Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and manage timekeeping for warehouse staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to team members as needed
Warehouse Operations:
Ensure the warehouse area is organized and maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
Coordinate with other departments to streamline the flow of materials and support production needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and VLM usage using SAP.
Prepare reports on inventory levels, material usage, and any issues related to warehouse operations.
Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory status, production floor observations, and potential improvements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehouse management or inventory control are a plus.
Proven experience in a warehouse or inventory control role, with at least [X] years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
Experience with SAP software for inventory management and production tracking.
Familiarity with Vertical Lift Module (VLM) operations and maintenance.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
Proficient in using warehouse management systems and standard office software.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry materials up to [X] pounds.
