Starting Pay: $22.0484 Hourly ($45,861) After 1st Year: $25.2542 Hourly ($52,529) After 2nd Year: $25.9894 Hourly ($54,058) After 3rd Year: $26.7222 Hourly ($55,582) After 4th Year: $27.5314 Hourly ($57,265) After 5th Year: $28.3437 Hourly ($58,955) After 6th Year: $29.2326 Hourly ($60,804)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
60 semester hours from an accredited college -AND- two (2) years' experience in accounting (governmental accounting preferred);
-OR-
Four (4) years' experience in accounting (governmental accounting preferred).
*JOB SUMMARY: *Assists in technical and professional tasks performed as they relate to accounting, purchasing, cash-handling training and auditing for the Genesee County Parks and Recreation; maintains Rec Trac software in regards to cash receipting; coordinates Parks purchasing; processes Parks payroll; assists Financial Officer with all related accounting duties; reports to the Parks and Recreation Director or designee.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Assists Financial Officer with all related accounting duties including but not limited to: audit preparation, preparing financial and other related reports, etc.;
- Coordinates obtaining bids, purchasing of materials, supplies and equipment;
- Ensures purchasing policies are adhered to;
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll changes are reported and payroll is processed;
- Conducts cash-handling training and on-site auditing of cash;
- Reconciles cash receipts with Rec Trac, bank and credit card statements;
- Assists in the development and implementation of reservation software;
- Maintains revenue ledgers and supporting accounting controls for Parks;
- Prepares special reports and projects for Parks revenue facilities;
- Assists in compiling and preparing special reports and projects of a financial or purchasing nature;
- Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of principles, methods and practices of governmental accounting;
Ability to prepare and complete accurate accounting and purchasing reports with attention to details;
Knowledge of county purchasing policies;
Knowledge of Parks payroll policies including an understanding of different union contracts;
Ability to use and maintain Rec Trac or other reservation software;
Ability to attend work regularly and work under stressful conditions;
Ability to communicate effectively with others;
Ability to work independently, collaboratively and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity and
