Common Ground Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) in Flint, Michigan

Positions available:

1) Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 8 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday

2) Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 3 pm - 11 pm, Monday - Friday

Base pay $21.00 - $24.00 plus shift differential.

About You

The Crisis Interventionist I (CI I) will be filled by one of the following: Certified Peer Support Specialist. This position involves mobile outreach and intervention to individuals in distress, aiming to offer peer support, guidance, and assistance during their crisis moments. The primary objective is to promote recovery, reduce the risk of hospitalization or institutionalization, and connect individuals with appropriate mental health resources and services. Day in the Life

  • Partner with Crisis Interventionists II and III to provide crisis support and follow-up services in the community

  • Represent Common Ground’s core purpose and values: helping people move from crisis to hope with excellence empowerment, collaboration, innovation, and diversity and inclusivity

  • Safety Planning: Collaborate with the individual to create a safety plan that identifies coping strategies, support systems, and resources to use during future crises

  • Provide information and referrals to appropriate mental health services, community resources, support groups, and treatment options based on the individual's needs and preferences

  • Be willing to share personal experiences in navigating the system and movement through the recovery process as appropriate

    What you need to apply

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record

  • Relevant recovery experience

  • Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing services to individuals with serious mental health illness

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing services to children with serious emotional disturbance and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities
