Our client, global leader in financial services technology industry , is seeking a Automation Engineer to join their team.

Software Development Engineer III, Automation Engineer

Role Overview: As a software test engineer at **, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and quality assurance of our software platform. You will work closely with developers, analysts, and tech leads to identify test scenarios, develop test plans, and contribute to our continuous improvement in testing standards and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance automation capabilities for testing our core platform.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to write and review test cases within an Agile/Scrum process.

  • Develop test plans and review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.

  • Improve our test automation framework for APIs and UIs.

  • Contribute to our BDD framework, enabling testers to generate test data and carry out tasks via Jira or Gherkin feature files.

  • Log bugs, report issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years in software testing or test automation script development and execution.

  • 7+ years in programming languages such as Java, C#, and JavaScript.

  • 7+ years in various testing types: functional, performance, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

  • 5+ years in Automating Web and API Testing.

  • 4+ years in modern automation framework design and development using Playwright, Cucumber, Cypress, Mocha, Chai, and Jest.

  • 5+ years with BDD & TDD to generate test cases from the User Story Acceptance Criteria and contribute to the BDD automation framework.

  • 5+ years in preparing and minting test data, setting up test environments, and utilizing mobile applications, microservices, and distributed systems.

  • 5+ years in QA methodology and software development processes (Agile, Scrum).

  • Strong experience with JIRA/ADO, QTEST/XRay, GITLAB/Bitbucket, and CI/CD tools like Gitlab/Jenkins/Harness.

  • Experience with testing REST and SOAP services using API tools like Postman and SOAPUI.

  • Knowledge of databases and SQL.

  • Excellent communication skills and client coordination.

  • Quality-focused with strong attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, military, or work experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Node, Docker, Serenity/SerenityJS, and Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of A/B testing, blue/green releases, canary releases, and feature flags.

Notes from the Vendor Call:

  • The role involves automating and testing APIs, integrating scripts to run from CICD pipelines, and performing health checks.

  • It requires solid knowledge of the SDLC and working in an agile environment with a scrum team.

  • The candidate should lead with hands-on experience and the ability to motivate the team.

  • The pay rate varies based on experience and leadership abilities; developers will be considered level 2.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with playwrights and cucumbers.

  • The candidate should demonstrate deliverables with target milestones in Playwright to transition current applications to Playwright.
