First Internet Bank of Indiana Project Manager in Fishers, Indiana

About the Position:

As a Project Manager you will provide leadership to assist the Bank in achieving its objectives through the effective completion of projects and implementation of systems. While the position resides within the IT Department, not all projects with which you are involved will be technical in nature. The ability to work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes will be critical to the success of your role. You will be expected to manage hybrid projects that will involve traditional and agile methodologies for delivery.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead planning and/or implementation of projects. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the business unit(s) impacted
  • Organize and facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, supporting product owners,
  • Manage multiple high priority and high visibility initiatives, meet and track deadlines across initiatives
  • Develop strong partnerships with assigned team(s) and cross-functional teams, encouraging sustainable work pace, promoting collaboration and teamwork
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, work with necessary parties to resolve blockers, and escalate to management accordingly
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including tracking progress, deliverables, milestones, tasks, and status reports
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

What Were Looking For:

  • A minimum of five years of project management or related experience required
  • A Bachelors degree required, equivalent experience will be considered
  • Financial institution and/or IT experience preferred
  • Agile Scrum, PMP or similar project management certification is a plus
  • Experience with applying agile values and principles preferred (Scrum, Kanban, Backlog grooming, etc)
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view, this may include digging into hidden problems
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands and deadlines
  • Willing to take a hands-on approach and help the team to drive success
  • Effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, consultative approach necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in system implementations, should be comfortable explaining technical and non-technical topics
  • Experience adapting to vendor methodologies when appropriate
  • Ability to work an expanded and flexible schedule in order to deliver projects on time and with minimal customer impact

Working Conditions/Demands:

  • Professional office setting.
  • Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
  • Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
