Commander, Navy Installations POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in Finegayan, Guam

Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in the Force Protection (N3), Protection Support Opperations Division (N34) of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BLAZ. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Direct Hire Authority for Shortage Category/Critical Need, 5 U.S.C. 9902(b)(2), 6/6/2017. Responsibilities You will provide advice and assistance to all levels of management concerning determinations of training needs; sources of training support; design and presentation of training; and evaluation of results. You will provide input to supervisor to document training plan. Prepare plans, regulations, supplements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reports on all phases of the training You will prepare and present training courses in a variety of police and guard subjects related to the division mission IAW regulatory directives. You will function secondarily as a Police Officer performing law enforcement and security functions. Promote the protection of property and civil rights of individuals by maintaining law and order. You will respond to and investigates complaints while enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-8: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in instructional methods and theories used in a formal Police Office training environment. Lesson planning, analyzing statistical data, and conducting training. Law enforcement procedures, Federal and local laws, traffic laws and established rules, regulations, and legal authorities. Investigative procedures, techniques, and methods to resolve crimes and other incidents. GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in providing assistance in lesson planning, analyzing statistical data, and conducting training. Law enforcement procedures, Federal and local laws, traffic laws and established rules, regulations, and legal authorities. Investigative procedures, techniques, and methods to resolve crimes and other incidents. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.
