Swiss Type Screw Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swiss Type Screw Machine Operator with a minimum of five years’ experience in programming and setup of Swiss Type Screw Machines such as Citizen, Star, and Tsugami. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in using basic measuring tools. You should be able to check parts using a microscope and work with close tolerances. Experience with mixed machinery including 4 & 5 axis mills & lathes, as well as a 6 axis mill, is essential.
Responsibilities
Program and setup Swiss Type Screw Machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami).
Work independently and follow instructions accurately.
Use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators) proficiently.
Check parts using a microscope.
Work with small parts and close tolerances (+/-.0001).
Develop CNC programs manually or using Mastercam, Partmaker, or Espirit.
Monitor the screw machine and make adjustments to speed, feed rates, or tool positions to meet blueprint requirements.
Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using standard measuring tools.
Ensure all traceability for work is complete according to ISO 9001 procedures.
Essential Skills
Minimum five years’ experience in CNC Swiss Type Lathe.
Proficiency in programming and setup of Swiss Type Screw Machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami).
Ability to work with small parts and close tolerances (+/-.0001).
Experience in developing CNC programs manually or using Mastercam, Partmaker, or Espirit.
Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
Proficiency in using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
Experience with mixed machinery including 4 & 5 axis mills & lathes, and a 6 axis mill.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Possess above-average planning and follow-through capabilities.
Experience with MS applications.
Strong skills and aptitude in math.
Good verbal and writing communication skills.
Completion of vocational or college training in machine shop (Certificate of Completion of basic machining course).

Work Environment
The work environment is an aerospace machine shop with a focus on machining forged and complex aerospace parts. The facility includes mixed machinery such as 4 & 5 axis mills & lathes, as well as a 6 axis mill. The dress code and other specific conditions are in line with standard aerospace machine shop practices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fife, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
