Overview

This client is a prominent designer and manufacturer of high-quality flow control valves, condensate removal traps, related components, and accessories. Serving a diverse range of markets, they pride themselves on innovation and the ability to provide customized solutions as well as a robust line of standard products.

The Product Engineer will provide leadership for new product design and development and support current production lines. This role involves close collaboration with sales and customers to lead the design, engineering, and commercialization of new products. Additionally, the position supports initiatives for quality improvements and cost-saving projects for existing products. The role requires interaction with customers, sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support designs from concept development through product commercialization.

  • Meet defined product performance and cost targets while ensuring reliability and manufacturability.

  • Generate ideas and plans of action to solve mechanical problems.

  • Develop solutions using CAD and communication with 3D modelers.

  • Present ideas through design reviews and drawing signoffs.

  • Validate designs through lab testing and end-user review.

  • Interface with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing to provide strategic direction to grow, develop, and improve products and customer base.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting mechanical engineering projects including defining requirements, developing concepts and detailed designs, qualifying the product through analysis and testing, and supporting the design transfer to manufacturing.

  • Experience with metal manufacturing processes including machining and assembly.

  • Proficiency with design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Labview.

  • Experience in flow control product design and manufacturing is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of APQP, Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing, and 8D Corrective Actions is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to support efforts for continuous improvements in process efficiency and cost reduction.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership capability and project management skills.

  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.
