Eaton Corporation Power Systems Engineer in Fenton, Missouri

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering & Services division is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineer!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year.

What you’ll do:

Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of Power System Engineers (PSE) in the industry, with industry-standard software and advanced modeling and analysis capabilities at their fingertips. Our team brings extensive skills and experiences to power system analysis and design. Active participation in technical societies such as IEEE and collaboration with a variety of utilities and industries ensures that our engineers are knowledgeable about today’s cutting edge engineering techniques. We assist customers at every stage of the power system: from substation and distribution system design to renewable energy and smart grid engineering, from safety and reliability-focused studies to power quality and grounding related audits and analyses.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.

  • Self-management assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.

  • Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.

  • Perform Short-Circuit, LV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies

  • Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency.

  • Perform Harmonic Analysis and design electrical distribution systems, including modeling and mathematical calculations for Load Flow, Voltage Drop, Power Factor Correction, Fault, and Grounding analyses.

  • Collect field data to gather information on customer’s existing electrical distribution equipment to complete a variety of power system studies.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution OR in lieu of a degree at least three years of field service experience

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed as there is no relocation offered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer-in-Training

• Bachelor Degree focused in power

• IEEE Membership

• Graduated Field Service Certification Level II

Skills:

POSITION CRITERIA:

• Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.

• Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company’s safety program.
