Scope

Full-service design responsibilities supporting Maritz Global Event's group travel programs, from conceptualization through development and right-the-first-time production of printed communications materials. No Direct Reports, no budget responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

35% - Creative Responsibilities Develop creative concepts that satisfy client needs and specifications; some direction and supervision required. Translate concepts into illustrated or computerized images to support promotional and pre-trip materials.

35% - Production Responsibilities Develop design concepts that translate into functionally efficient and economical layouts of print communications. Provide complete specifications and timelines for the development of production schedules and pricing. Maintain smooth flow of timely and accurate paperwork on all assignments. Complete production files to produce required materials on schedule.

30% - Presentation/Budget/Scheduling Responsibilities: Create samples of communications materials and miscellaneous sales tools to support client presentations. Attend and contribute to internal customer and client presentations as requested. Participate in production and pre-production meetings to exchange timely and complete updates to keep projects on schedule. Meet agreed upon deadlines for assigned work. Communicate all schedule exceptions to appropriate coworkers or management on a timely basis. Execute projects within established budget projections. Communicate project specifications to buyer to determine budget; communicate changes to buyer to determine budget impact.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or industry experience

  2. 3 years’ design experience preferred

  3. Creative requirements: Design value/creativity; artistic ability; specific design abilities to include all aspects of print production

  4. Technical requirements: typography and fonts; Macintosh OS; Low resolution scanning; Pantone Matching System and process color printing

  5. Advanced knowledge of the following applications: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand, Photoshop

  6. Working knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Word, Excel
