The South Mountain Restoration Center is seeking motivated, reliable workers to perform a variety of tasks in the custodial care of institutional buildings and surrounding grounds to provide a clean, sanitary, and attractive environment. South Mountain Restoration Center is a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and is located in thebeautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping and buffing floors; dusting and polishing furniture; washing walls, windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces; emptying and cleaning trash receptacles; delivering clean linens and clothing to residents' rooms; and moving and lifting furniture and equipment.

Work involves the use of custodial supplies and cleaning materials as well as the safe and proper operation of equipment and machines according to established procedures and practices outlined in the Environmental Services Department Procedure Manual.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 3 positions available on the 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM shift 1 position available on the 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM shift Rotating days including weekends and holidays, with 30-minute lunch. Overtime as needed Work hours and days may change based on operational need. This position is location in South Mountain, Franklin County. Pennsylvania. You must be willing to work in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Experience as a custodial worker, janitor, or cleaning person. (i.e.) cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, cleaning office or public areas. mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, buffing, etc. Custodial or housekeeping work experience in the following areas or settings: assisted living facility; hospital; nursing home; correctional facility; fast food or restaurant; cafeteria; school. Work experience collecting and disposing infectious waste in proper storage areas. Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways. Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents. Work experience using a manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors. Experience operating floor scrubbing machine, use of ladders to clean high areas, proper handling of cleaning chemicals, interacting with patients/residents, snow removal from walkways and entrances, changing light bulbs, cleaning furniture, and mopping (wet or dry mop), scrubbing. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
