Job Description:

The Field Engineering Specialist performs aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data. Tows and positions aircraft. Flies with the aircraft to provide off station maintenance support, removes and installs aircraft avionics, hydraulic components, landing gear, tires and struts. Performs engine removals and installations. Checks for work correctness. Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals. Implements preventive maintenance programs, documents performance and maintenance records on aircraft and equipment. Position will include lifting, bending, and climbing. Position will require travel CONUS and OCONUS.

Essential Functions:

  • Must maintain flight status requirements.

  • Must be highly skilled, with tact and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels.

    Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

  • Ability to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI preferred

  • Boeing 737 / C40 experience very desirable.

  • Boeing Aircraft / CFM56 experience very desirable

  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.

  • Ability to work alone or within a group.
