Davis County Animal Care is currently hiring for a full-time Dispatcher/Office Specialist located in Fruit Heights, Utah. This position performs routine clerical work and duties involving the use of radio equipment to dispatch County Animal Control Officers at the animal shelter. Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday - Saturday, Onsite

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Starting rate: $19.59 - $24.89, based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent.
  • Two years of full time related work experience: experience must include providing support over the phone as a customer service representative.

Preference for related experience in a governmental agency providing customer service to the public.

Preference for fluency in Spanish and English.

Day to Day Duties

  • Answers incoming calls from the public regarding lost, stray, or injured animals, animal abuse, dangerous animals, and other animal-related issues.
  • Offers advice and provides information to the public about animal control regulations, local ordinances, and available resources in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assigns animal control officers to respond to calls based on priority, location, and officer availability using 10-codes.
  • Logs all calls and incidents into a computer system.
  • Dispatch complaints in a timely manner.
  • Performs receptionist and clerical duties.
  • Works closely with other dispatchers, animal control officers, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.
