Job Summary The Hardware Design Engineer will be based out of our Farmington Hills ,MI Design Center. This role is responsible for supporting Flexs development of active automotive programs. You will interface with multiple internal and external customers while driving requirements, technology and development activities for automotive Lighting, Power Electronics and other embedded projects. The Hardware EE must be capable creating the schematic design, guiding the board layout, and doing bring up and debug for the resulting hardware. This position requires an experienced professional with preferably background in automotive electronics design from OEMs or Tier 1 and have a track record of successfully launching products into production. What a typical day looks like: Provide technical leadership and design expertise to lead electrical design in automotive products Create PCB floor plan, functional specifications and other documentation to support hardware design and implementation. Collaborate with system, mechanical, thermal, software, manufacturing, requirements, quality, and functional safety engineering teams to complete implementation of the HW design. Enter schematics, create PCB stack up, guide layout and work with electro-mechanical designers and verification test engineers. Provide reports to the system lead, project management, engineering leadership and customer teams of development status and risks. Perform Failure analysis and design corrections for EMI/EMC related issues The experience we're looking to add to our team: A minimum bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 6 years of design engineering experience, preferably in automotive industry Extensive experience in the design of Analog , Digital & power supply designs for automotive environment Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and familiar with automotive EMC requirements and good design practices Experience with worse case circuit analysis (extreme value analysis),DFMEA,DFM etc Proficient in the use of electrical design software from Cadence (HDL, CIS, System capture) Proficient in the use of circuit simulation software such as Pspice, LT-spice Strong verbal and technical writing skills Strong analytical thinking skill
