Farmingdale Bakery Assistant Manager Full time- hourly Estimated hourly pay is $22 to $24 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Must be at least 18 years and older Position Description: With limited supervision, the assistant manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operation, sales, and profit goals of the Bakery Department. Sales range from $2.5– $7 million based on store location. Bakery products are prepared according to standards and customer preference. Team members work safely and adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards in each area of the department to provide customers with the highest quality products. Your day-to-day : + Ensure displays are merchandised and appropriate signage is visible + Ensure displays are full and product is rotated appropriately + Ensure production plan is met + Review sales report to identify opportunities to achieve goals + Place orders with vendors and transfers, when needed + Participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly department inventories + Attend department BASH and Strategy meetings + Assist in hiring, promoting, and training team members + Create schedules and enter them into HRIS system for team members to access at least 2 weeks in advance + Conduct and/or actively participate in monthly department communication meetings + Address disciplinary issues in a timely fashion + Ensure the department follows all health codes, sanitation, and safety regulations + Any other projects, as needed What you bring to the team: + 18 years of age or older + High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years’ experience + Flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays + Safely operate bakery ovens, mixers, and all other equipment used in the day-to-day operation of the bakery department + Familiar with operations of a scratch bakery + Base knowledge of all areas of the bakery: cakes, breads, bagels, donuts, rice cakes + Great customer service skills + Good computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, purchase order/transfer, and item maintenance systems + Good communication skills, both written and oral + Good organizational skills + The ability to delegate tasks and give clear directions + The ability to multi-task Working Conditions: + Time split between office work and in production area. + Temperature is colder or warmer than room temperature due to product being highly perishable. + Standing, walking and lifting. + The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing and pulling with a maximum of 50-75lbs and occasionally climbing and reaching.
