Butler Ag Rental Account Manager in Fargo, North Dakota

Our Rental Account Manager works to provide collaborative solutions within an assigned territory, while promoting all aspects of Butler Machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the rental of new and used machines, products, and attachments within their assigned territory

  • Provides adequate coverage of assigned territory and/or customers for the specific equipment and attachment rentals and sales that he/she is responsible for through regular contact including office and jobsite visits, telephone contact, direct mail, and other appropriate means in a structured and timely manner.

  • Works closely with customers to assist them with proper equipment solutions, providing professional advice when requested.

  • Manage and maximize sales territory. Prospect, identify and qualify potential customers in person, over the phone, and arrange presentations to establish new accounts.

  • Establish new accounts and achieves activity minimum on assigned accounts.

  • Cultivate territory by cold calling on targeted customer base and follow up on company generated leads.

  • Must become proficient in the use of the company provided CRM. Documents customer information, ownership files, customer activity, lost and successful rentals/sales, and other reports as requested.

  • Maintain an understanding of competitors and maintain awareness of different forms of construction phases to be able to identify various sales opportunities.

  • Maintains familiarity with customers’ operations and business requirements.

  • Maintains strong knowledge of the markets that our customers serve with focus on general construction, landscape contractors, residential and commercial construction, industrial sites, and manufacturing.

  • Keeps abreast of product updates for products that he/she represents along with competitors’ products.

  • Develop quotes, prices and credit terms and prepare contracts.

  • Assist in collecting on past due accounts.

  • Participate in training, sales meetings, and trade shows.

  • Works cooperatively with fellow employees to provide customers solutions and an industry leading customer experience

  • Delivers rental equipment in conjunction with regular jobsite visits, when necessary.

  • Handles after hour and emergency calls on evenings and weekends via company provided phone.

  • Completes and processes all documentation and paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn local customer practices and the Ag and Construction industry

  • Previous knowledge of Ag and Construction equipment preferred

  • Previous sales and rental experience preferred

  • Experience in dealing with a fast paced, transactional style of business preferred

  • Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office

  • Excellent self-motivation and personal accountability

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed

  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record

  • CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain
