Job Summary

This person will be responsible for the maintenance of ledgers and preparation of financial statements for a number of small entities. Responsibilities also include processing accounts payable invoices, recording cash receipts, reconciling bank statements, and providing supporting schedules and documentation for tax preparation and for management review as needed. A self-starter with the ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources with a constant commitment to teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties Include

  • Record journal entries for a number of ledgers.

  • Process accounts payables invoices and generate checks.

  • Record cash receipts and reconcile bank statements.

  • Assist in filing reports required by outside agencies.

  • Prepare and submit any schedules or reports requested by management.

  • Responsible for the accuracy and timely reporting of financial information.

  • Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis.

  • Works independently and with team members to support consistent, logical and effective solutions to job related situations.

  • Exhibit teamwork and camaraderie.

  • Engage in constructive discussion with team including in regular attendance of team meetings.

  • Demonstrate accountability and a commitment to serving the businesses we are responsible for.

  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D. Offutt Company.

  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.

  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Accounting or the equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
