ABOUT THE ROLE

Holcim Us, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Haul Truck Driver - Equipment Operator to support operations at the Fredericksburg, VA Quarry. This position will be responsible for installing and assembling new machines and equipment. Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments.

  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment including handling welding repairs.

  • Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager

  • Hauls materials, supplies, and equipment between distant points with opertaing vehicle in safe manner.

  • Loads and unloads or supervises the loading and unloading of assigned equipment, limiting the load to a safe capacity

  • Maintain a truck log, operating a radio or other communication equipment, and prepare paperwork.

  • Check oil and water, performing safety evaluations, and following directions to haul and dump loads accordingly

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Required Work Experience: 1-2 years in a plant or industrial environment.

  • Required Work Experience: Prior experience operating haulage trucks or heavy equipment

  • Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail

  • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance (Preferably Excavators & Front loaders)

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to work in inclement weather without restrictions

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

  • Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills

  • OSHA 10 (Preferably)

  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
