HOW A SENIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project life cycle life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close)

  • Responsible for assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources as needed, and developing a schedule to ensure timely completion of the project

  • Manages projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, contractors, and vendors

  • Manage the scope, risks, issues, deliverables, and schedule of individual project tasks Interface with customer executive level management on a regular basis

  • Plans and facilitates Agile activities, including PI Planning, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Planning, Daily Stand-up, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective

  • Conduct regular meetings with the program manager and project team, documenting status of project including technical, schedule and financial issues that may be present

  • Review all startup and planning documents

  • Develop and maintain (e.g., tracking, updating, reviewing) the project plan and schedule

  • Establish and enforce the use of the project’s Change Control process

  • Establish and enforce the use of the project’s Communication Plan

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • PMP certification

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of related professional work experience

  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager (and as a Scrum Master is a plus) with strong history of leading projects

Required Technical Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years' serving as a Project Manager in very complex enterprise application environments of experience in IT project management, with a focus on project related experience with upgrade or large-scale IT modernization projects.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as such as ServiceNow, Appian, Pega or Salesforce

  • Agile Certification (i.e., PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, etc.)

Security Clearance Level:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Location:

  • On-site in either Washington, D.C. or Falls Church, VA., with eligibility for a hybrid work schedule

The likely salary range for this position is $132,750 - $179,604. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
