About the Role
As a CBRE Events Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a small team assigned to meetings, events & conference services.
This job is part of the Events job function. They are responsible for the creation, management, and execution of marketing events for internal and external clients.
What You’ll Do
Provide formal supervision to employees. Supervise the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Lead all aspects of the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department target dates. Mentor and coach as needed.
Serve as primary contact with clients for meeting & events forecasts and strategies.
Troubleshoot and resolve client inquiries and complaints.
Maintain department budget. Approve purchase orders for event supplies as requested by the team.
Implement improvements for event success. This includes making improvements to processes, procedures, and systems. Review reports to measure efficiency and present findings to management.
Ensure operations and vendors are follows location requirements.
Accountable for supervising department SLAs, KPIs, and benchmarks. Supervise related performance data and determine solutions for gaps.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
Apply knowledge of own field and how own subject area integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
Ability to guide the exchange of difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.
Leadership skills to empower team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job field and department.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mentality.
Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
