Defense Health Agency Exercise Assessment Specialist in Falls Church, Virginia

Summary About the Position: This position is located within the Defense Health Agency supporting the Exercises, and Readiness Division, in Falls Church, Virginia. Note: Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Identify and document gaps and trends in proficiency and force readiness. Develop recommendations for Exercise as part of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle. Extract and assess key issues pertaining to medical operations for dissemination to appropriate agencies within joint communities. Liaise and coordinate with counterparts at CCMDs, Combat Support Agencies, and other Services. Provide input to key documents for CCOE DOTMLPF-P efforts (e.g., concepts, operational and organizational concepts, Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) documents, programs of instruction). Analyze lessons learned, best practices, and tactics, techniques, and procedures for DHA from actual military operations, training exercises, joint exercises, experiments, Warfighter Exercises, home station training at the DHA HQ. Facilitates, monitors, tracks, and reports integration and implementation of lessons learned, best practices, and tactics, techniques, and procedures supporting the operating and generating forces. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development of new exercise procedures, identifying areas of improvement in exercise programs and providing advice on changes to program requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Curriculum Development Organizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
