Job Description
General Purpose:
Ensures that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. Must have excellent proficiency in preventative maintenance, over-hauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair. Must also have working knowledge of machine shop equipment, excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment, following all safety procedures
Support the installation of new equipment
Assist the machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime
Ensure all repairs are documented
Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Attends required training, including but not limited to: GMP's, HAACP, SQF, Safety, etc.
Perform other tasks and jobs as assigned
Proactively identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement to include: Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Leader Standard Work
Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Must have two (2) years formal mechanical education certificate or equivalent work experience doing maintenance type work
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to perform minor electrical work (ex. change pump motors, diagnose motor control problems, etc.)
Must know pneumatics, solenoid valves, and air cylinders
Must have the ability to perform minor projects from planning to installation. (Typically, this includes non-sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines.)
Must have the ability to perform routine repairs in a safe and timely fashion (ex. rebuilding product pumps, water pumps, sanitary valves, samplers, packaging equipment, sifters, piping leaks).
Must have the ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, identify any abnormal conditions, and maintain appropriate records
Must have the ability to perform basic welding for repair and fabrication (mig/tig/stick).
Must have the ability to follow process control computer variables, schematics, and diagnose system problems.
Must have the ability to assist other mechanics on more complicated repairs in a safe and useful manner.
Must have good interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and effectively communicate with others.
Basic computer skills.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
Must be able to successfully complete a written maintenance test conducted by Maintenance Manager
Licensing and Certification:
- Electrical, welding, boiler, refrigeration, waste water, or plumbing licenses or certificates are a plus
Pay Range $22.00 - $26.00/hour
