Atlantis Charter School After School Program Instructor (Junior Tritons) $17.00 per hour in Fall River, Massachusetts
The Junior Triton Instructor leads activities and supervises students enrolled in the Junior Triton After School program. Additionally, the Junior Triton Instructor is committed to Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustee’s policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports to the Junior Triton Coordinator or his/her designee. This position is part time, approximately 15 hours per week. The hours are 2:30pm-5:30pm Monday-Friday and the pay rate is $17/hour. The program is open to students in grades K-6. There may be additional opportunities to work in our day care for under school age children during the school day in addition to after school. Higher level education courses in related field preferred. Experience working with children preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to relate well to others REPORTS TO: Junior Triton Coordinator SUPERVISION: None ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, the Junior Triton Instructor will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the administrator may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate. Provides appropriate indoor and outdoor supervision to students in the program at all times, ensuring that all students are safe Creates developmentally appropriate lessons and organizes group activities for students. Assists students in completing homework assignments. Facilitates daily snack time Assumes responsibility for equipment and materials used during the program Assists in keeping Junior Triton designated areas clean and organized Communicates with parents of students enrolled in the program as directed and appropriate. Maintains a working knowledge of school routines, emergency procedures and school discipline policy. Addresses student behavior in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of the school Notifies Junior Triton Coordinator immediately of any concerning behaviors or incidents that occur while students are in the Junior Triton program. Contacts emergency assistance agencies and parents as needed and or directed in the event of an emergency. Dismisses students to appropriate individuals on the pick up list. Works collaboratively and cohesively with other staff members in the program Attends scheduled professional development training and staff meetings. Presents a professional appearance by adhering to ACS dress code. Is actively engaged in job/career growth by attending inservice programs, professional development, educational courses and seminars. Actively listens and responds in a respectful non-confrontational manner to the opinions of others. Fosters positive attitude in the workplace. Maintains and respects strict confidentiality of any sensitive information related to Atlantis Charter School, its faculty, staff and students. Responds to concerns and requests of direct reports in a timely, respectful and courteous manner. EVALUATION An annual performance evaluation of the Junior Triton instructor will be performed by the Program Coordinator TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT At will employment. Hourly rate as negotiated per agreement. WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods. " />
