Randstad Professionals is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent for a Manufacturing company. This Contract opportunity would require you to be local to the Falconer, NY area. Job Overview: The Purchasing Agent will manage the purchasing function at Monofrax, working with various departments and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. This role involves maintaining vendor relationships, managing inventory, and supporting internal processes with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely and accurate procurement. Negotiate prices and terms as needed.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor and reorder raw materials, including consignment and packaging, to meet production needs. Resolve overdue purchase orders and manage inventory records.

  • Reporting: Prepare reports on purchasing and material consumption. Maintain and update the Vendor Evaluation System Database and other records.

  • Procedure Compliance: Adhere to Monofrax's Quality System and internal policies. Maintain and update standard operating procedures and cross-train backup personnel.

  • Process Improvement: Participate in projects to enhance inventory accuracy and process efficiency. Recommend improvements based on data analysis.

salary: $25 - $27 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement.

  • Negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage inventory and vendor relationships effectively.

  • Proficiency in report preparation and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with SAP and ISO:9001 standards is a plus.

Performance Metrics:

  • Effective management of raw material levels.

  • Accuracy in inventory and order delivery.

  • Internal customer satisfaction and relationship management.

Additional Information:

  • Occasional interaction with customers and other facilities.

  • Reports to the Business Controller and supports various projects as assigned.
