POSITION SUMMARY:
- Ensure deliveries are prepared for shipment or received accurately and timely by performing the following duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain paperwork and communication with drivers regarding loading/unloading of trailers;
Ensure all paperwork is completed legibly, accurately and timely;
Receiving Clerk
Check in all loads;
Respond to telephone inquiries;
Verifying seal on incoming loads is correct;
Monitor refrigerated trucks to ensure proper temperature;
Accept and sign for UPS/Fed Ex packages;
Receive in Glass and Pallet trailers;
Print out following day PO’s and COA’s;
Print LPN’s for purchase order;
Shipping Clerk
Check in all trucks to pick up product;
Respond to shipping related telephone inquiries;
Ensure product is staged and ready to be loaded at scheduled pick time;
Ensure all USDA loads are prepared accurately and all paperwork is scanned to Customs;
Print out following day’s sales order for staging;
Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED;
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots);
Ability to apply basic math functions and reasoning
Familiar with use of RF scanners
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to scan documents to customers and store files electronically in customer folder
Comfortable processing high volumes of emails and providing quick responses
Excellent communication skills with the ability to share pertinent information cross-functionally
Previous experience safely operating a forklift in a fast-paced environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Constant exposure to extreme loud noises;
Constant sitting, entering and exiting the forklift;
Constant use of fingers and hands;
Constant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment;
Constant work in high places and near moving mechanical parts;
Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds;
Frequent reaching/pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending;
Occasionally lifting >50 pounds
Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing plant)
