LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450– Learning and School Improvement Services, 15 Linden Park, Rochester, NY 14625
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month Position (plus additional days per diem during summer months), Full Time
STARTING DATE: April 2025
SALARY RANGE: $52,250 - $83,791 per school year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
Assist with the preparation and planning of short- and long-term professional development plans, using skills such as data analysis, research, and resource management.
Provide high-quality professional development workshops on a variety of topics, based on districts’ needs and requests.
Coach teachers and support staff in classroom and other school-based settings in best practices to ensure implementation of high-quality curriculum and instruction.
Provide support for districts specifically with the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards, the Science of Reading and the related shifts in instructional practices.
Coordinate curriculum-based projects for component districts.
Work collaboratively with the professional development team to organize, develop, and implement professional learning at the request of districts.
Inform and assist districts in implementing the regional goals of the professional development advisory committee.
Model successful teaching, curriculum development, and assessment practices which integrate and align professional learning with component districts’ curriculum and instructional plans.
Work cooperatively with consortiums of school districts, business organizations, cultural institutions, and higher education to enhance the awareness of best educational practices that support district and state standards and initiatives.
Communicate effectively with various audiences through personal and electronic means.
Continuously refine practices through the study of best practices in professional development and education.
Assist in coordinating the establishment of procedures, timetables, preparation of necessary forms and letters, selection of workshop sites, and all other practical elements of professional development.
Seek research, new ideas and staff development initiatives, which may have relevance to the needs of component school, BOCES and personnel.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of School Improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
NYS Teacher Certification in one or more of the following areas: K-12 Literacy, Elementary Education or Secondary English; Multi-grade level experience preferred.
Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience.
Experience developing and providing professional learning.
Experience with curriculum writing and planning.
Experience with utilizing assessment data to improve instructional practice.
Experience with use of technology and integration into the curriculum.
Possess and demonstrate effective communication skills.
Possess and demonstrate knowledge of New York State Next Generation learning standards and assessments, specifically in ELA and Reading.
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with others.
Demonstrate ability to coordinate and implement professional learning.
Demonstrate ability to problem-solve and be a critical and creative thinker.
Demonstrate initiative and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate capacity to multi-task effectively and move multiple projects forward simultaneously.
