Apprentice Skilled Construction Craft Laborer

The Apprenticeship program consists of on-the-job training as well as required classroom training. Classroom training is attended outside of work hours for a minimum of 300 hours during the 24-month apprenticeship.

The apprentice must sign an affidavit stating he/she is physically capable of performing the work required. (NOTE: costs for medical examinations, if required, are at the expense of the sponsor.) OTHER: Apprentices must provide their own reliable transportation to and from jobsites and to and from all classroom instruction programs. Must have a valid NYS Drivers License (Class D). Apprentices may be required to operate Company vehicles. Apprentices working on Public Work jobs earn the prevailing rate for apprentices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Age: 18 Minimum Education: 10th Grade Experience: Experience is not required; however, previous construction experience is a plus.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: The Apprentice must be physically able to perform the work required, including working from ladders and scaffolds, and in confined spaces. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
