Job Summary

We are seeking a Healthcare Referral Marketer to join our employee-owned home health agency, which is expanding its presence in Solano County. The marketer will focus on building relationships with case managers, physicians, and discharge planners at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) in Solano County and driving referrals to our clinicians. We are hiring at both early-career and experienced levels and are looking for individuals who are motivated to help expand our agency’s referral network in the area. The position will be focused on Solano County, CA, with potential travel to Contra Costa County, CA. Our agency is located in Pleasanton, CA.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions (* indicates an essential job function)

The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Build and nurture relationships with hospital discharge planners, SNF case managers, physicians, and other healthcare providers to generate referrals for in-home skilled nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy services (primarily through in-person visits as well as telephonic/email communication).*

  • Preferred but not required: Leverage existing networks with Solano hospital and SNF case managers

  • Develop and implement a marketing and referral plan for Solano County, aligned with market analysis and referral source targets.*

  • Drive referral growth through high-quality, personalized follow-ups and communications with key referral sources.*

  • Educate healthcare providers about the services our home health agency offers, demonstrating the value we bring to their patients.*

  • Monitor and report referral activity and progress against targets.*

  • Maintain up-to-date records of key accounts, including background, contact history, objectives, and referral trends.*

  • Analyze market conditions and recommend strategies for developing new service offerings or enhancing existing services.

  • Monitor competitors by staying informed of their pricing, marketing strategies, census, and service offerings.

  • Participate in planning for agency growth, including short-term and long-term strategies.*

  • Work closely with administrators to monitor progress towards goals, identify barriers, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.*

You possess a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, particularly in skilled nursing and therapy services.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Early Career Healthcare Marketer

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in marketing, business, healthcare, or a related field preferred.

  • 0-2 years of experience in marketing, sales, or related fields (healthcare experience is a plus).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with referral sources.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in the healthcare space.

  • Reliable transportation for daily local travel within Solano County.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Self-starter.

  • Experienced Healthcare Marketer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, healthcare management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in healthcare marketing or business development are a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or sales, with an established network in Solano County.

  • Proven success in generating referrals and driving revenue growth.

  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare referral landscape, particularly with hospitals, SNFs, and home health agencies.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans to increase referrals and revenue.

  • Reliable transportation for daily local travel within Solano County.

  • Preferred (but not required): Experience in home health or healthcare services; Familiarity with Solano County’s healthcare network.

Field Environment

  • During field visits, the employee may encounter various office and healthcare settings with varying conditions. Interaction with healthcare professionals, including handling sensitive and sometimes challenging discussions, is part of the role.

Benefits

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation packages, with significant earning potential through performance-based commissions.

Base salary ranging from $70,000 compensation to $85,000, with additional performance incentives (total compensation can exceed $150,000); The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on location, skills, qualifications and experience.
