Job Announcement

The Northern Virginia Regional Projects Office (NVRPO) is excited to announce the hiring of a Management Analyst I to provide entry-level professional analytic and technical support. The office works to support the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) regional programs and the five Northern Virginia Community Service Boards (CSBs).

Under the general supervision of the NVRPO Management Analyst III, this position provides professional support to office personnel, the Regional Management Group (RMG), and various subgroups to produce regional deliverables and ensure compliance with the DBHDS State Performance Contract. The RMG consists of each participating CSB Executive Director and the Facility Director of the local State hospital, Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI). NVRPO represents DBHDS Region 2 which consists of the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park and the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William. This position will perform entry-level professional analytic and technical work to assist with the analysis and data management of Region 2 program services. Secures data from individual CSB and community providers, imports it into regional and DBHDS reports and ensures accuracy in formulas for data tracking in graphs, tables, or charts. Provides subject matter expertise in confirming the integrity of data, tracking outcomes, and utilization using established software applications, databases, and/or spreadsheets. Assist in the task of implementing improvements such as changes to business practices, data collection, and related processes and procedures.

Other administrative duties are assigned to this position such as meeting scheduling, room reservation, meeting minutes, supply procurement and management, Electronic Health Record data entry, facilities support, and human resources support. This position will perform support activities related to the management of regional policies, regulations, staff procedures, and additional special projects that are identified by the NVRPO team and the RMG. Works with staff, partner organizations, other stakeholders, and executive leadership to support the regional effort. Works both independently and in a team setting.

  • Conducts professional-level work in functions or activities, such as financial, budgetary, procurement, contract administration, human resources, training, information technology, and similar functions;

  • Formats data sets and performs qualitative and descriptive statistical analysis to aggregate and assimilate data for displaying potential patterns and trends;

  • Assists in implementing business improvements, such as changes to policies, work practices, processes and procedures;

  • Contributes to position papers, evaluation reports and presentations.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area.

BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However, persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with complex data tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.

  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records to enter, read, access and extract outcomes and other data elements.

  • Excellent customer service record, with ability to problem solve complex data queries.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience with and knowledge of Community Services Board, Fairfax County Government, and the Department Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Skilled in fundamental computer operations, including working knowledge of word processing through Word and advanced spreadsheet operations through Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job is generally sedentary in nature, however, will be required to self-transport to regional meetings. Ability to do m oderate lifting and bending to file and retrieve documents and stock supplies. Ability to use keyboard and telephone, lift up to 15 lbs.; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
